Creamy 2-Ingredient Fruit Dip
This creamy two-ingredient fruit dip takes five minutes and tastes like you put in way more effort. It’s what I make when guests are coming and I want a no-stress dessert that still gets compliments.

It works with strawberries, apple slices, graham crackers, even pretzels. The tangy cream cheese and sweet, airy marshmallow fluff do all the work.
Why This Dip Works Every Time
Most two-ingredient recipes taste like exactly two things. This one tastes richer than that. The cream cheese brings a slight tang that keeps the sweetness from getting cloying, and the marshmallow fluff gives it a fluffy, almost mousse-like texture.
The ratio is also forgiving. You don’t have to measure perfectly. If you like it tangier, you can add an extra ounce of cream cheese, and it still comes together.
It’s reliable in a way few desserts are. Every time I make it, someone asks for the recipe, and they’re always surprised it’s just two things.
Ingredients

- 8 oz cream cheese, softened: use full-fat brick cream cheese for the smoothest result
- 7 oz jar marshmallow creme: the spreadable kind, not mini marshmallows
Variations / Substitutions
- Dairy-free cream cheese: use your favorite plant-based cream cheese block and the same marshmallow fluff for a vegan-friendly dip
- Add vanilla: stir in ½ teaspoon vanilla extract for a little more depth without losing the two-ingredient spirit
- Lighter tang: swap half the cream cheese for plain Greek yogurt for a fluffier, brighter dip
Crispy Air Fryer Kale Chips are one of our favorite ways to use this dip.
How To Make Creamy 2-Ingredient Fruit Dip
Step 1: Whip the Cream Cheese

Put the 8 oz softened cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Beat it with a hand mixer on medium speed until it looks smooth and there are no lumps, about 2 minutes. If you start with cold cream cheese, it will stay lumpy no matter how long you beat it.
Step 2: Beat in the Marshmallow Fluff

Add the entire 7 oz jar of marshmallow creme to the bowl. Beat on low for 30 seconds just to start combining, then bump the speed to medium and beat another 1 minute, until the mixture is fluffy and one even color. Stop and scrape down the sides once if you need to.
Step 3: Spoon and Serve

Scoop the dip into a serving bowl and set it out with whatever fruit and dippers you have. It’s ready right away, so you can serve it as soon as you finish beating.
A Few Notes Before You Start
- Let the cream cheese sit on the counter for 30 to 45 minutes before you start. Room temperature cream cheese means no lumps.
- Using a hand mixer instead of a whisk makes a big difference here, especially if you want that airy texture.
- If you’re making this for a party, it holds its fluffiness in the fridge overnight, so you can beat it the night before.
- Serve with fruit that doesn’t brown quickly, like strawberries, grapes, and apple slices tossed in a little lemon juice.
Scale it up for a bigger bowl:
| Batch size | Cream cheese | Marshmallow creme |
|---|---|---|
| 1x (about 1½ cups) | 8 oz | 7 oz jar |
| 2x (about 3 cups) | 16 oz | 14 oz (2 jars) |
| 3x (about 4½ cups) | 24 oz | 21 oz (3 jars) |
Keeping Leftover Dip Fresh
- Refrigerate: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Give it a quick stir before serving again.
- Serve cold: This dip is meant to be eaten straight from the fridge or after sitting out no more than 2 hours.
What to Dunk in This Dip
Fresh strawberries are the classic choice, their juiciness and slight acidity cut the richness. Thin apple slices give a crisp contrast, and salty pretzels create a sweet-and-salty hit that’s hard to stop eating. Graham crackers turn it into an impromptu cheesecake experience.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make this dip thinner for drizzling?
Yes. Beat in a tablespoon of milk at a time until it reaches the drizzle consistency you want. Go slowly so you don’t thin it out too much.
Is it safe to leave this dip out at a party?
It can sit out at room temperature for up to 2 hours, just like any dairy-based dip. After that, pop it back in the fridge.
Can I tint the dip with food coloring?
A drop or two of gel food coloring stirred in at the end works great for themed parties. Add it after the marshmallow fluff and beat just a few seconds to combine.
