2021: The seed is planted
MyKitchenMates.com went live with a simple goal: share everyday recipes that actually work in a real home kitchen.

Early 2022: First real traction
In the first months of 2022, readers started finding us. We passed 50,000 visitors and grew into a team of 4 to cook, test and write more recipes.

September 2022: The first Google hit
A Google update knocked back our search traffic just as we were finding our feet. We didn’t stop. Every writer kept publishing new recipes, whether the traffic came or not.

2023: A full kitchen
The team doubled to cover everything from weeknight dinners to baking, and we crossed 100,000 visitors in total.

October 2023: Squeezed by Google
Another round of Google changes squeezed our search traffic even further. Still, nobody put down their whisk. We kept testing and publishing, because we cook for the love of it, not for the numbers.

We started sharing our recipes on social media, and for the first time a real part of our readers came from there instead of search.

2025: Back to the roots
We spent the whole year updating every article: retesting recipes, clearer steps, better photos and more helpful tips. Social traffic kept coming in alongside it.

2026: Growing again, thanks to you
We went all in on social media, cooking with you where you already are, and the site is growing again. That’s all thanks to you, our lovely readers, who keep making our recipes, sharing them and coming back for more.
Why so little video so far? Honestly, we’re shy in front of the camera. So in the early months of 2026 we started practicing: learning basic video editing, filming our first clips and publishing a few videos to get comfortable.

Late 2026 & 2027: All in on video
The practice is paying off. From the last quarter of 2026 and through 2027, video becomes our main focus. We’ll show the stages that are hard to describe in words, like the right dough texture or the color of properly caramelized onions, so you can see exactly what to look for.
