- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, then cook onion and celery with a pinch of salt for 8 minutes. Add garlic, sage, and thyme; cook 1 minute.
- Toss bread cubes and parsley with the buttery vegetable mixture in a large bowl until coated.
- Whisk broth, egg, salt, and pepper together, pour over bread, and fold gently. Let sit 5 minutes.
- Spread into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and bake 30 to 40 minutes until golden.
- Spoon onto plates, making sure to include the crispy top, and serve hot.
Notes
If your gluten-free bread is very soft, dry the cubes in a 300°F oven for 10 to 15 minutes before you start. For a heartier version, brown 8 ounces of bulk sausage with the onion step. Leftovers keep well and reheat beautifully in the oven with a splash of broth.
