Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat 1/2 cup butter and sugar until fluffy, about 2 minutes. Beat in egg, sour cream, and 1 tsp vanilla. Mix dry ingredients into wet until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough on floured surface into a 9x12-inch rectangle. Brush with melted butter, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll up tightly, slice into 9 pieces, and place cut side up in pan.
- Bake 23 to 27 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
- Beat cream cheese until smooth, then beat in powdered sugar, milk, and 1/2 tsp vanilla. Glaze cooled bars before slicing and serving.
Notes
Let the bars cool completely before glazing, otherwise the glaze will melt and slide off. They keep well at room temperature for a day, but longer storage is best in the fridge.
