- Heat the oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high. Sauté the onion and poblano until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the ground turkey, breaking it up as it cooks. When no pink remains, stir in the garlic for the last minute.
- Sprinkle in the cumin, oregano, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the cannellini beans, green chiles, and broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, mashing some beans against the pot to thicken.
- Remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream. Taste and adjust seasoning.
- Ladle into bowls and top with cilantro, avocado, tortilla strips, cheese, and a squeeze of lime. Serve hot.
Notes
If you prefer a thicker chili, simmer uncovered an extra 5 minutes before stirring in the cream. A squeeze of lime juice right at the end brightens the whole pot, so don’t skip it.
