Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (about 2 tbsp)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 4 snack-size bags Fritos
  • For serving: shredded iceberg lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, salsa

Method

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned, 5 to 7 minutes.
  2. Stir in taco seasoning and water, reduce heat to medium, and simmer until liquid reduces and coats meat, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. Gently crush each bag of Fritos, open, and spoon in taco meat. Top with cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and salsa. Serve immediately with a fork.

Notes

No resting time needed. If making for a crowd, double the meat and keep it warm in a slow cooker. Assembled bags are best eaten right away; the chips will soften if they sit too long.
