Method
- If the rice is cold from the fridge, microwave it for about 1 minute until steaming, then fluff with a fork.
- Drain the tuna, break it into large flakes in a bowl, and mix in the mayo, soy sauce, and sesame oil until creamy but still chunky.
- Spoon the warm rice into a bowl, pile the tuna on top, and scatter the green onion and furikake over it. Eat immediately.
Notes
If you are starting from fresh rice, cook a short grain or medium grain white rice and let it cool for just a few minutes so it is still steamy but not boiling hot. The whole bowl comes together faster if you keep a batch of rice in the fridge or freezer during the week.
