Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 large (12 inch) prepared pizza crust
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • Sour cream and salsa, for serving

Method

  1. Heat oven to 425°F with a baking sheet inside. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes, drain if needed, then stir in the taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  2. Spread the refried beans over the crust, top with the beef and cheese, then slide onto the hot baking sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is crisp.
  3. Remove from the oven, top with lettuce, tomato, and olives, then dollop with sour cream and salsa. Slice and serve right away.

Notes

If your crust comes fresh or room temperature, the bake time stays the same. When using a thinner crust, check after 10 minutes so the bottom does not burn. The pizza is best right after the cold toppings hit the hot cheese, but leftovers can be reheated in the oven if the lettuce is stored separately.
