Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 lb lean ground beef (90/10)
  • 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
  • ⅓ cup water
  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • 2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1 medium Roma tomato, diced
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives
  • Sour cream and salsa, for serving

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until no longer pink, about 6 to 8 minutes. Stir in taco seasoning and water, simmer 2 minutes until thickened.
  2. Grease a 10x15 inch rimmed baking sheet. Unroll crescent dough, press into the pan, and pinch seams to seal. Bake 8 minutes until lightly golden.
  3. Spread refried beans over the warm crust, then top with the beef and sprinkle cheese evenly. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Let rest 5 minutes.
  4. Top with lettuce, tomato, and olives. Drizzle with sour cream and salsa, slice into squares, and serve immediately.

Notes

If you like extra crunch, a handful of crushed tortilla chips scattered on right before serving adds a nice salty contrast. For the cleanest slices, use a pizza cutter and wipe the blade between cuts so the cheese doesn’t drag.
