Ingredients
Method
- Stir cream cheese, powdered sugar, and 1/2 tsp vanilla until smooth.
- Whisk eggs, milk, remaining vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a shallow bowl. Slice strawberries.
- Spread filling on 4 bread slices, top with half the strawberries, and sandwich with remaining bread.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Dip sandwiches in custard for 20 seconds per side, then cook until golden and crisp, about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
- Serve hot, topped with the remaining fresh strawberry slices and a dusting of powdered sugar.
Notes
Any berries work here, and you can double the recipe to feed a group. Keep cooked slices warm in a 200°F oven while you finish the rest.
