- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan. Mash the bananas, then whisk in the melted butter, both sugars, egg, buttermilk, and vanilla until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the dry mixture to the wet and fold with a spatula just until no streaks of flour remain.
- Gently fold in the chopped strawberries.
- Scrape the batter into the pan and bake for 55 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For the cleanest slices, let the loaf cool completely so the crumb sets. The bread will taste even better the next day.
