- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). In a small saucepan, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, vinegar, pepper flakes, and sesame oil. Simmer over medium heat for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Season chicken with black pepper and arrange in a single layer in a baking dish. Pour the glaze over the top and turn the pieces to coat evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, basting halfway through, until chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Switch to broil, place rack 6 inches from heat, and broil for 2-3 minutes until the glaze is bubbling and charred in spots. Serve with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
The glaze thickens as it cools, so don’t worry if it looks a bit thin right out of the oven. Letting the chicken rest for two minutes on the counter lets the sauce set up beautifully.
