- Whisk together BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in the slow cooker.
- Add chicken and turn to coat all sides with the sauce.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours, until the chicken shreds easily with a fork.
- Remove chicken, shred with two forks, return to the sauce, and toss to coat. Serve hot.
Notes
This chicken tastes even better the next day, so it is a great make ahead filling for lunches. Keep the lid on tight during cooking and avoid peeking. If you use thick chicken breasts, check for doneness after 5.5 hours on low.
