Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a rimmed half-sheet pan with parchment. In a bowl, combine the beef, onion, Worcestershire, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; mix gently just until combined.
- Press the mixture into an even 1/2-inch layer across the prepared sheet pan, reaching all the way into the corners.
- Bake for 15 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) and the edges are browned.
- Remove the pan and immediately sprinkle the cheese evenly over the hot meat. Return to the oven for 2 to 3 minutes to melt.
- Let rest for 2 minutes, then slide a spatula underneath to loosen. Cut into 12 squares and serve on slider buns with desired toppings.
Notes
A meat thermometer takes the guesswork out of doneness. If your pan is smaller and the meat layer ends up thicker than 1/2 inch, add 2 to 3 minutes to the bake time and check the temperature again. The meat slab will shrink slightly as it cooks, which is normal.
