Ingredients

  • 2 packs Korean instant noodles, seasoning packets discarded
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • ½ lb ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp gochujang
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • ¼ cup sliced green onions
  • 2 large eggs
  • Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish

Method

  1. Soft-boil the eggs: boil for 6 minutes, then place in ice water.
  2. Brown the beef in oil over medium-high heat for 5-6 minutes until crispy; remove and set aside.
  3. Cook noodles according to package directions; drain. In the same skillet, cook garlic for 30 seconds, then stir in gochujang, soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil. Toss with noodles and beef.
  4. Divide into bowls, top with halved eggs, green onions, and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.

Notes

If you plan to eat both servings at different times, boil the second egg just before serving for a fresh, jammy yolk. The beef and noodles reheat well, but the egg is best fresh.
