Ingredients
Method
- Melt 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear shrimp in a single layer, about 2 minutes per side, until pink and just cooked. Transfer to a plate.
- Melt the remaining 2 tbsp butter in the same skillet. Add asparagus and ¼ tsp salt. Cook 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until bright green and tender-crisp.
- Reduce heat to medium. Stir in garlic and red pepper flakes, if using, and cook 30 seconds. Add lemon juice and return shrimp with any juices. Toss for about 1 minute until sauce coats everything. Season with remaining salt and pepper.
- Toss once more, then plate and spoon extra sauce over the top. Serve hot.
Notes
Pat the shrimp dry before cooking for a good sear. If you want a little more sauce, add a splash of chicken broth or white wine with the lemon juice.
