Ingredients
Method
- Preheat air fryer to 370°F (190°C). In a shallow dish, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
- Dip each bread slice into the custard for 20-30 seconds per side. Let excess drip off, then brush both sides lightly with melted butter.
- Place slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry 4 minutes, flip, and cook 3 more minutes until deeply golden and crisp. Serve right away with butter and maple syrup.
Notes
For the best texture, use day-old bread. If your bread is very fresh, you can dry it in a 300°F oven for 10 minutes before dipping. A pinch of nutmeg added to the custard gives a warm, spiced note.
