- Whisk the oil, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper in a bowl or bag until the salt dissolves.
- Add the chicken, coat evenly, and marinate at room temperature for 20 minutes or in the fridge up to 2 hours.
- Sear over medium-high heat for 6-7 minutes per side until browned and 165°F, then slice against the grain and serve in warm tortillas.
Notes
This marinade works best with a short soak. If you’re using chicken breasts thicker than 1 inch, pound them to an even thickness first so they cook through before the outside burns.
