Method
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.
- In a large bowl, stir the flour and cream until a shaggy, sticky dough comes together.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and pat into a 3/4-inch-thick rectangle. Fold once for layers if you like.
- Cut biscuits with a floured cutter, pressing straight down without twisting, and place close together on the sheet.
- Brush tops with extra cream and bake 12–15 minutes until deep golden. Serve warm.
Notes
If your dough seems too wet to handle, add a tablespoon more flour as you pat it out. These biscuits are best fresh, so bake them right before you plan to eat. You can reheat any leftovers in a toaster oven to bring back the crispy top.
