Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 10.5-oz can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 2 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 sleeve Ritz crackers (about 1½ cups crushed)
  • ½ cup salted butter, melted

Method

  1. Mix chicken, soup, sour cream, poppy seeds, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce in a large bowl until combined.
  2. Spread the mixture evenly into an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  3. Crush crackers into coarse crumbs, then stir in melted butter until coated.
  4. Scatter the buttered crumbs over the chicken layer without pressing down.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let rest 5 minutes, then scoop onto plates.

Notes

Rotisserie chicken saves time and adds flavour. If the filling seems thick, stir in a tablespoon or two of milk to loosen it. The casserole is best served warm right after baking, when the topping is at its crispiest.
