Ingredients
Method
- Mix the dough ingredients until a smooth, slightly tacky dough forms, then chill overnight.
- Roll the dough into a 16 by 12-inch rectangle, spread with soft butter, and sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and pecans.
- Roll into a log, cut into 12 pieces, and arrange in a greased 9 by 13-inch dish. Cover and let rise until puffy, about 45 to 60 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F for 25 to 28 minutes, until golden and bubbling. Cool 10 minutes.
- Beat the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk into a smooth frosting.
- Spread the frosting over the warm rolls and serve right away.
Notes
Chill the dough overnight, at least 8 hours, so the gluten relaxes and the flavor deepens. If your kitchen is very cold, the shaped rolls may need up to 75 minutes to proof. Toast the pecans for the best flavor.
