Ingredients
Method
- Toast the bread in a toaster or under a low broiler for 2 to 3 minutes, until golden and crisp.
- If the peanut butter is cold, microwave it for 10 to 15 seconds. Spread 2 to 3 tablespoons evenly over the warm toast.
- Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with flaky salt. Add sliced banana or apple if using, then serve right away.
Notes
The whole point is the contrast between warm, crisp toast and soft, glossy peanut butter, so don’t skip heating the bread just before you spread. If you’re using a very dense, moist bread like a thick brioche, you may need an extra 30 seconds under the broiler to get enough crispness.
