Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Beat 1 cup butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add 1 cup peanut butter, eggs, and vanilla; beat until smooth.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Gradually add to wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Press dough evenly into prepared pan. Bake 20–22 minutes until edges are golden and center is set. Cool completely in pan.
- For frosting, beat 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup peanut butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, and vanilla, beating until creamy. Add more milk if needed.
- Spread frosting over cooled bars. Let set 15 minutes, then slice and serve.
Notes
These bars taste even better the next day after the frosting and cookie base have had time to meld. Keep them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for longer storage.
