Ingredients

  • 4 tilapia fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 lemon
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Method

  1. Pat the tilapia fillets dry, place them on a large foil sheet set on a baking sheet, and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Stir the melted butter, garlic, and 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice together. Slice the remaining lemon into thin rounds.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Drizzle the butter mixture over the fish, top with lemon slices, and fold the foil into a tightly sealed packet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the fish is opaque and flakes easily.
  4. Open the packet carefully, transfer the fillets to plates, and spoon the pan juices over each portion. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

If your fillets are on the thinner side, check at 10 minutes to keep them tender. For a family-sized pack, split the fish between two foil packets so the steam does its job.
