Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13-inch pan. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Beat 1/2 cup butter and sugar until fluffy, then add eggs, zest, juice, and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients. Bake 25-30 minutes, cool completely.
- Beat cream cheese, 2 tbsp butter, powdered sugar, and 1 tsp zest until smooth. Crumble the cooled cake into fine crumbs, then mix in the frosting a little at a time until the mixture holds together when pressed.
- Roll mixture into 1-tablespoon balls and place on a lined sheet. Chill at least 1 hour until firm.
- Melt white chocolate with coconut oil. Dip the tip of each stick in chocolate, insert into a ball, then dip the whole pop, tapping off excess. Place stick-up to set.
- Drizzle reserved chocolate over the pops and top with fresh orange zest while still tacky. Let harden and serve.
Notes
Chill the cake balls at least 1 hour before dipping so they stay on the sticks. You can make the undipped balls a day ahead and keep them in the fridge until you are ready to coat them. For an even easier version, swap the homemade cake for a vanilla box mix and stir in 1 tablespoon orange zest.
