- Stir the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until smooth. Add the milk, vanilla, and salt, then let the mixture cool for 2 minutes.
- Fold in the heat-treated flour and 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips. Press the dough into an 8x8-inch pan lined with parchment paper.
- Melt the dark chocolate over a double boiler, then pour it over the dough layer. Spread evenly and scatter the extra chocolate chips on top.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until the chocolate is firm. Lift the slab out by the parchment and break it into bark pieces.
Notes
Chill the bark for a full 2 hours before breaking it, and keep it cold until you are ready to serve. If your kitchen is warm, pop it back into the fridge between helpings.
