Ingredients

  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 2 (3.4-oz) boxes instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (8-oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
  • 1 (7.25-oz) bag Chessmen cookies, plus a few extra for topping
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • Optional: squeeze of lemon juice

Method

  1. Whisk the milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes until thickened. Whisk in the condensed milk, then fold in 1 cup of the whipped topping.
  2. Cover the bottom of a 9x13-inch dish with a single layer of Chessmen cookies (about 24).
  3. Slice bananas and layer them over the cookies. Spread half the pudding on top. Repeat with another cookie layer, remaining bananas, and remaining pudding.
  4. Refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight. Just before serving, spread the remaining whipped topping on top and crumble extra cookies over it.

Notes

Keep the assembled pudding in the fridge for at least 4 hours so the cookies have time to soften. The final whipped topping and cookie crumble go on right before you bring it to the table.
