Ingredients

  • 16 oz can refried beans
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
  • Optional toppings: chopped cilantro, diced tomatoes

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Mix refried beans, cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning in a bowl until completely smooth.
  2. Spread the mixture into an 8x8 inch baking dish and cover evenly with shredded cheese. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden at the edges.
  3. Let the dip rest for 3 minutes, then top with cilantro and tomatoes. Serve hot with chips.

Notes

If you want a deeper chili flavor, warm a teaspoon of cumin or chili powder in the bowl before adding the wet ingredients. The dip firms up as it cools, so for a party it’s best enjoyed within the first 20 minutes out of the oven.
