Ingredients

  • 2 tilapia fillets (4 to 6 oz each), patted very dry
  • 2 tsp lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • optional chopped parsley and lemon slices for serving

Method

  1. Pat fillets dry and season both sides with lemon pepper seasoning and salt. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high with half the butter and all the olive oil.
  2. Cook fillets 3 to 4 minutes per side, until golden and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  3. Transfer fillets to plates. Add remaining butter and lemon juice to the hot pan, swirl to melt, drizzle over fish, and top with parsley. Serve immediately.

Notes

Tilapia fillets vary in thickness, so adjust cook time if yours are very thin or thick. Use a thin spatula for flipping to keep the fillets intact. If you only have salted butter, scale back the added salt.
