- Stir breadcrumbs and milk in a large bowl, let sit 5 minutes. Add turkey, egg, Parmesan, onion, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Roll the mixture into 18 to 20 meatballs, about 1 1/2 inches wide, and set on a plate.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear meatballs 5 to 6 minutes, turning to brown all sides.
- Reduce heat to low, pour in marinara sauce, then bring to a simmer. Cover and cook 10 minutes, until meatballs reach 165°F.
- Transfer meatballs to a serving dish, spoon sauce over the top, and garnish with fresh basil.
Notes
Let the meatballs rest in the sauce off the heat for a few minutes before serving; they soak up even more flavor that way. If you like a little heat, stir 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes into the sauce along with the meatballs.
