- In a bowl, combine the ground turkey, grated onion, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; mix gently just until combined.
- Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape into patties slightly wider than the buns, making a shallow indent in the center of each.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until deeply golden and the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Add cheese in the last minute if using.
- Toast the buns in the skillet if desired, then stack the patties with your favorite toppings and serve right away.
Notes
The patties are best fresh off the skillet, but you can hold cooked patties in a 200°F oven for up to 15 minutes while you finish the rest. If your skillet isn’t large enough for all 8 patties, cook them in two batches to avoid steaming.
