Ingredients
Method
- Combine ground beef, 1 tbsp soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Shape into 4 oval patties, each about 1/2 inch thick.
- Sear patties in oil over medium-high heat for 3 to 4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté mushrooms until golden, about 4 minutes. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Whisk in beef broth, 1 tbsp soy sauce, and 1/2 tsp pepper. Simmer until thickened, 2 to 3 minutes. Return patties to the gravy and warm through.
- Serve patties and gravy over hot steamed jasmine rice, ladling extra sauce on top.
Notes
The rice cooking time is not included in the recipe timing, so start your rice first so everything finishes together. The patties will be thinner than a typical burger, which helps them cook quickly and soak up the gravy.
