Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets, skin on (about 6 oz each)
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ΒΌ tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Sliced scallions and toasted sesame seeds, for serving

Method

  1. Whisk together the honey, soy sauce, garlic, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl. Set aside.
  2. Pat the salmon dry and season with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the fillets skin-side down for 4 minutes, flip, and cook 2 minutes more.
  3. Pour the glaze into the pan around the salmon. Let it bubble and thicken for 1 minute, spooning it over the fillets. Transfer to plates, top with scallions and sesame seeds, and serve.

Notes

Use center-cut fillets of similar thickness for even cooking. If your salmon was frozen, thaw and dry thoroughly before searing.
