Ingredients
Method
- Beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes. Beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the butter mixture on low speed, stopping when just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Cover and refrigerate dough for at least 30 minutes, up to 24 hours.
- Scoop 1 1/2 tablespoon portions, roll into balls, and place on parchment-lined sheets. Flatten to 1/2 inch thick, pinch the bottom into a point, and press two top dents to form a heart.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake 10 to 12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers look soft. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then move to a rack.
Notes
Chilling time is not counted in prep. Dough can be chilled overnight for deeper flavor. Freeze unshaped dough balls for up to 3 months.
