Ingredients
Method
- Drop teaspoon-sized mounds of Nutella onto a parchment-lined plate and freeze for at least 30 minutes. Cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar 3 minutes until fluffy, then beat in egg and vanilla. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into butter mixture. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Scoop heaping tablespoons of dough, flatten each, place a frozen Nutella mound in the center, and wrap dough around it to seal.
- Place balls on a parchment-lined sheet 3 inches apart. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12 to 14 minutes until edges are golden and centers look puffy but set.
- Cool on the sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Serve warm.
Notes
The 30-minute Nutella freeze time is not included in the prep time above, so plan for that before you start mixing the dough. For the cleanest seal, freeze the Nutella overnight and pull it out right when you need it.
