Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8‑inch pan with parchment.
- Whisk melted butter, both sugars, eggs, and vanilla in a large bowl until smooth and slightly lightened.
- Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold with a spatula until just combined.
- Reserve 2 tbsp of chocolate chips, then fold the rest into the batter. Spread into the pan and press reserved chips on top.
- Bake 25–30 minutes, until a toothpick has moist crumbs. Cool completely in the pan, lift out, and slice into 16 squares.
Notes
Let the brownies cool at least 30 minutes before slicing; they finish setting outside the oven. For the cleanest squares, run your knife under hot water and wipe it between cuts.
