Ingredients

  • 12 slider rolls (like Hawaiian rolls)
  • 1 lb thinly sliced roast beef (from the deli counter)
  • 6 slices provolone cheese, halved
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp dry onion soup mix
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix (plus water called for on packet)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice rolls in half horizontally, place bottom slab in a 9x13-inch dish, layer with roast beef and provolone halves, then close with the top slab.
  2. Stir together the melted butter, onion soup mix, Worcestershire, and garlic powder. Brush most of the glaze over the top slab, letting it drip between the rolls.
  3. Cover tightly with foil and bake 15 minutes. Uncover and bake 5‑7 minutes more until tops are golden and cheese is melted at the edges.
  4. While sliders bake, prepare the au jus on the stovetop per packet directions. Let sliders rest 2 minutes, cut apart, and serve with warm au jus for dipping.

Notes

For a homemade au jus, simmer 2 cups beef broth with 1 tsp Worcestershire, ½ tsp onion powder, and a pinch of black pepper for about 5 minutes. Sliders can be assembled a few hours ahead and refrigerated—just add a few extra minutes to the covered bake time. Nutrition is an estimate based on 2 sliders per serving with au jus made from a packet.
