Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef, 80/20
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 12 ct package slider buns, such as Hawaiian rolls
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Method

  1. Heat oven to 400°F. Mix beef with the 1 tsp garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire. Press into a 9x13 inch dish.
  2. Bake 20 minutes, until cooked through. Drain fat and blot the top.
  3. Lay cheese slices over the hot beef to cover.
  4. Slice rolls horizontally. Place bottom slab on the cheese, top slab on top. Mix melted butter, sesame seeds, and 1/2 tsp garlic powder, then brush over the tops.
  5. Broil 2 to 3 minutes until buns are golden. Rest a few minutes, then cut into individual sliders.

Notes

If your slider buns come as individual rolls, you can still pull this off—just snuggle the bottoms together on the cheese and top with the tops. The butter seeps between them and creates the same crispy finish. A serrated knife makes cutting through the whole thing much cleaner than a chef's knife.
