- Pat the turkey wings dry and season them with the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the wings for about 3 minutes per side, until browned.
- Transfer the wings to a slow cooker in a single layer. Pour the broth around the edges, dot with butter if using, cover, and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours, until very tender.
- Remove the wings to a platter and cover to keep warm. Whisk the flour and water together, then whisk into the liquid in the slow cooker. Cook on HIGH for 15 to 20 minutes, whisking now and then, until the gravy thickens.
- Place the wings on a serving platter, spoon the gravy over the top, and serve hot.
Notes
If the gravy seems thin after thickening, let it bubble a few more minutes; it will continue to thicken as it cools slightly.
