Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
  • 8 oz cream cheese, cubed
  • 1 cup chunky salsa
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Method

  1. Cook the ground beef and taco seasoning in a skillet over medium-high heat until no pink remains, about 8 minutes. Drain fat.
  2. Transfer beef to a 3 to 4 qt slow cooker. Add cream cheese cubes and salsa; do not stir.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW for 1.5 to 2 hours, stirring once after 1 hour until smooth and creamy.
  4. Switch to WARM, top with cheddar, cover 5 minutes until melted, and serve straight from the crock.

Notes

Keep the dip on WARM during serving and stir it occasionally. If it thickens too much, stir in a spoonful of water or milk to loosen it.
