Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (.87 oz) packet chicken gravy mix
  • ½ cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt

Method

  1. Place chicken in the slow cooker in a single layer and season with garlic powder, pepper, and salt.
  2. Whisk together cream of chicken soup, gravy mix, and broth. Pour over the chicken.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until chicken shreds easily.
  4. Shred the chicken in the slow cooker, stir to coat in the gravy, and serve hot.

Notes

For thicker chicken breasts, slice them in half horizontally so they cook evenly. If the gravy thickens beyond your liking after shredding, stir in a splash of warm broth. A ¼ cup of sour cream folded in at the end adds extra richness and a slight tang.
