Ingredients
Method
- Rinse 1 lb raw peanuts, remove debris. Place in slow cooker with 3 tbsp kosher salt and enough water to cover by 1 inch. Stir and taste brine; adjust salt.
- Cover and cook on low for 20 to 24 hours, until shells are swollen and peanuts are tender. Add hot water as needed to keep submerged.
- Drain and serve warm.
Notes
Cook time is based on the low setting; for a faster batch, use high for 10 to 12 hours. Fresh green peanuts cook faster than dried raw peanuts, so start checking for doneness an hour or two early if using those.
