Ingredients
Method
- Heat oven to 400°F (200°C). Brown the beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for 6 to 8 minutes, drain most of the fat, then stir in taco seasoning and 1/3 cup water. Simmer 2 to 3 minutes until thickened.
- Layer half the chips on a large rimmed baking sheet. Top with half the beef, half the beans, and half the cheese. Repeat with the rest, then scatter jalapeño slices on top if using.
- Bake in the center of the oven for 10 to 12 minutes, until cheese is melted and chip edges are lightly toasted.
- Remove from the oven and immediately add sour cream, salsa, guacamole, cilantro, and lime wedges. Serve right from the pan.
Notes
If your chips have been open for a few days, spread them on the baking sheet and warm them in the oven for 3 minutes before layering. That restores some crunch before the toppings go on.
