Ingredients

  • 1 lb short pasta (rotini or elbows)
  • 2 (5 oz) cans tuna in water, drained
  • 2 ribs celery, finely chopped
  • ⅓ cup chopped dill pickles
  • ¼ cup finely diced red onion
  • ¾ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Fresh dill, for garnish

Method

  1. Cook pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, about 8–10 minutes. Drain well and rinse under cold water until cool.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Add the cooled pasta, drained tuna, celery, pickles, and red onion to the bowl. Fold gently until everything is evenly coated.
  4. Transfer to a serving bowl, garnish with fresh dill, and serve immediately or chill for 30 minutes to let the flavors come together.

Notes

This salad can be made up to a day ahead. If refrigerating, let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before serving and stir in a little extra mayonnaise or a splash of milk if needed to loosen the dressing.
