Ingredients
Method
- In a bowl, fold together the crab, mayonnaise, chives, and a pinch of Old Bay until just combined. Set aside.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Whisk the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and Old Bay. Cut in cold butter until pea-sized lumps remain. Stir in cheddar and buttermilk until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface, press to ¾-inch thickness, and cut into 8 portions. Flatten each, add a tablespoon of crab filling, and bring the edges up to seal, placing seam side down on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 14 to 16 minutes until deep golden and cheese bubbles at the edges.
- Mix the melted butter, ½ tsp garlic powder, and parsley. Brush over hot biscuits and serve warm.
Notes
These are best straight from the oven. If you want to prep ahead, stuff and freeze the unbaked biscuits, then bake from frozen adding a few extra minutes. Let them cool on the pan for a minute before moving them so the cheese sets.
