- In a small saucepan over low heat, stir the white chocolate chips and heavy cream until melted and smooth, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and salt, and set aside.
- Brew the espresso or strong coffee while the sauce cools slightly.
- Heat the milk until steaming (140°F to 160°F) and frothy. Use a frother or French press to create a thick foam.
- Spoon the white chocolate sauce into a mug, pour the espresso over it, and stir. Add the steamed milk, top with foam, and finish with whipped cream if using. Serve hot.
Notes
The white chocolate sauce can be made up to a week ahead and kept in the fridge. If it thickens too much, thin it with a teaspoon of warm milk before using. For an iced mocha, let the sauce cool fully and shake everything with ice.
