- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch cake pan. Whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth, then add egg and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips until just combined. Press into pan, dot with extra chips.
- Bake 18 to 22 minutes until edges golden and center set but soft. Cool completely in pan.
- Beat softened butter until creamy, then add powdered sugar, vanilla, and 1 tablespoon milk. Beat until smooth, adding more milk if needed for spreadable consistency.
- Spread frosting over cooled cookie, scatter sprinkles, and slice.
Notes
For the cleanest slices, chill the frosted cake for 10 minutes before cutting. A springform pan makes unmolding extra easy, but any 9-inch round pan lined with parchment will release just fine.
