Method
- Stir the sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl until evenly blended.
- Spread 1/2 tbsp of the softened butter on one side of each bread slice.
- Place the bread butter side down in a large nonstick skillet set over medium heat. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, until the bottom is deep golden and crisp. Remove from the pan and set buttered side up.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar generously over the hot buttered toast. Serve right away.
Notes
If you like a softer toast, cut the cook time by 30 seconds. The butter will still melt but the bottom stays pale. Salted butter users do not need the extra pinch of salt.
