- In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, ⅓ cup milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
- Dip each bread slice into the custard, soaking about 20 seconds per side.
- Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, melt butter, and cook the soaked bread for 3 to 4 minutes per side until deep golden.
- In a small bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth, then stir in powdered sugar and 1 tbsp milk until pourable, adding more milk if needed.
- Plate the French toast, drizzle with glaze, and serve immediately.
Notes
If the glaze firms up while you’re finishing the toast, give it a quick stir and a few seconds in the microwave to loosen it. The French toast is at its crispiest right out of the pan, so serve it as soon as it’s drizzled.
