Ingredients

  • 2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Press one can of crescent dough into the bottom, sealing seams. Bake for 5 minutes.
  2. Beat the cream cheese and 1 cup sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla just until combined.
  3. Spread the filling over the crust. Unroll the second can of dough on top, press down gently. Brush with the melted butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  4. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and the center is slightly jiggly. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 20 minutes, then slice into squares.

Notes

For the cleanest cuts, chill the cooled bars for at least 1 hour before slicing. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
